Shipping and Freight Costs
These days, it seems that it costs more and more to ship something. The real issue is fuel cost and the carriers have no choice but to pass on the cost on to us then we in turn pass the cost on to you, the consumer.

W see many customers place multiple small orders with us and often the shipping cost for these small orders is 60% or more of the cost of the items ordered. Please understand, we aren't complaining and there is no minimum order quantity at www.kegkits.com but it is to your advantage as a customer to combine orders. Our freight rates are based on the weight of products ordered and not the cost. The shipping cost per pound goes down as the weight goes up, making the shipping cost per item less as the order size increases. Also, combining orders allows you to take advantage of our automatically applied discount specials.

We have had quite a few customers ask why they can-not combine the $10.00 off orders over $125.00 special, the $25.00 off orders over $250.00 special, the $75.00 off orders over $500.00 special and the $150.00 off orders over $1000.00 special. The answer is actually simple.

We originally wanted to offer one free freight special for all orders over $125.00 but when we looked at the cost of shipping to different parts of the country, we quickly realized that we would loose money on the longer distance shipments. So instead, we came up with a set of tiered discounts and in most cases, the discount covers your freight plus a little extra.

One final note - we routinely swap shipping methods when one method will give better service to you than the other. For example; if you are on the west coast, order parts and choose UPS Ground, we may switch your order over to Priority Mail if the cost is close to the same. UPS ground delivers to the west coast from here in 5 days while Priority Mail delivers in 3 days, a 2 day savings in delivery time. Plus, Priority Mail delivers on Saturday - UPS ground does not.
