The difference between a wall mount CO2 primary regulator and a wall mount secondary CO2 regulator

People usually go to a wall mounted CO2 regulator to get the regulator off their CO2 tank, where it is always subject to being damaged. And if you also want multiple pressures then a wall mount primary regulator set is the perfect solution. With a wall mount primary regulator set you can have a set of independently adjustable pressures without having to invest in the extra high pressure regulator you would need to feed CO2 into a secondary regulator set. We've heard of two cases where people assembled a high pressure CO2 hose directly to a secondary regulator set to make their own wall mount primary CO2 regulator set with disastrous results. In both cases one of the regulator bodies cracked, releasing all of the CO2 from their CO2 tanks. And one of these cases involved a customer, our customer, who purchased one of our 60" long high pressure hoses and used it along with a secondary regulator set he already owned to make his own primary wall mount regulator set. Because of this incident we will no longer sell our high pressure hose by itself and only offer them as part of one of our wall mount primary regulators. The issue is that commercial secondary only CO2 regulators are not designed to withstand high pressure directly from a CO2 tank. Secondary only CO2 regulators are designed to be placed downstream from a primary CO2 regulator. The primary CO2 regulator drops the CO2 pressure down to a safe that is then managed by the secondary regulators. Wall mount primary regulators like the ones we manufacture and sell are not the same product as wall mount secondary only CO2 regulators. All of our wall mount CO2 regulators are manufactured with 3000 PSI rated primary CO2 regulators and they are designed to manage pressure delivered directly from a full CO2 tank. Look at the back of any regulator we sell and you will see that it is clearly marked 3000 PSI.

CO2 Regulator Adjustment Options A lot of customers don't realize that almost all of our regulators are available with the standard screw adjustment or our easy to use hand adjustment handle. The standard screw adjustment style is great for "set and forget" pressures while the hand adjust handle is great for making quick pressure changes without hunting down a screwdriver.   All of our built to order CO2 and Nitrogen regulators are manufactured with Chudnow regulator bodies and quality brass parts & gauges. Every CO2 and Nitrogen regulator we build passes through a series of test including a pressure creep test and a bleed down test. We warranty our CO2 and Nitrogen regulators for one year past the date of sale.
